We've moved ....

Settlers' Day on 21 January 2012 was the annual recognition by the Feilding and Districts Historic Society of the arrival of the first settlers in the Manchester Block and when Feilding was officially recognised as a town of significance. The Coach House Trust took this opportunity to move a number of the vehicles as a parade from Bowen Street to 121 South Street - those vehicles that could be moved via their own wheels. This was an opportunity for the public to have a brief view of these unique and historic vehicles as they move through town.

As the availability of safe, sound and reliable horses to trust with these precious artefacts is limited, most were powered by human energy, that is the willing strength of the Feilding Old Boys - Oroua Rugby club.

Our vision is to be an outstanding museum worthy of destination status. The collection of more than 50 vehicles includes gigs, phaetons, carts, drays, coaches and various items of farm equipment. Many of the vehicles have been completely restored and some are in their last used state.

The museum also has a superb display of local historical photographs, recreated with modern computer technology.

Located in the Manawatu town of Feilding, the museum is open daily from 1.30pm to 3.30pm for visitors, and can be open at other times by arrangement. To organise a visit, or to find out more information, please click here.
