The Coach House Museum recently hosted an Antique Evaluation Day and were pleased to have the involvement of the TV crew of Eagle Eye Video productions who are filming episodes for the TVNZ programme "Auction House".   Well known antique dealers Peter Wedde and Hamish Walshe provided two full days of day evaluations of a wide variety of treasures including, brightly coloured Clarice Cliff,  art deco pottery, an ornate silver samovar and a large greenstone mere.

Many visitors, arriving early on Saturday morning with their antiques were greeted with a large gathering of people with the queue reminscent of scenes from the Antique Roadshow reaching towards the Library.    The day got under way with the arrival of Peter and Hamish in the phaeton.     The entire two days were videotaped by cameramen Roger Pitman and Mike Nelson with 16 hours in the can.   370 antique items were evaluated and that coupled with numerous vistors meant the weekend was a resounding success on all levels, not the least of these was to raise the public's awareness of the Coach House museum, and as a result the Salvation will receive some assistance to re-build there recently burnt down second hand depot.
